This policy document sets out a range of concrete actions by which the UK Government has planned to work with mainstream Muslim organisations to tackle violent extremism. Four key strands are covered in the document, the promotion of shared values, the support of local solutions, the building of civic capacity and leadership, and finally the strengthening of faith institutions and leaders in the community. These four strands of work will form the foundation for a long-term policy response to the ongoing threat of violent extremism in the United Kingdom.
