This paper was written for the conference of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation on “Right-Wing Extremism in CEE-Countries. Strategies against Right-Wing Extremism.” It proposes that the approach to combating right-wing extremism in Slovakia should be considered in multiple contexts – the overall situation on extremist scene and prevailing trends in activities of extremist groupings, capabilities of anti-extremist actors, their interaction and commitment, dominant tendencies in country’s political life, broader socio-economic and socio-cultural environment influencing public attitudes to extremism (accepting, rejecting, neglecting).
