This study is based on administrative documents, legislation, and existing research and analysis. The aim was to sketch the present and upcoming legislation, find out possible tendencies in immigration and minority issues, and evaluate the position of immigrants and ethnic minorities in Finland. Lobbying campaigns and potential measures that could be used to improve the situation of immigrants are presented. In addition, a few court cases and surveys dealing with racial violence/discrimination are described. Finally, conclusions and recommendations are given.
