Co-organised with the Asser Institute, the 15th edition of ICCT’s Advanced Summer Programme on Terrorism, Counter-Terrorism and the Rule of Law will focus on counter-terrorism in the digital age. Participants will have the unique opportunity to network and engage directly with fellow professionals in the field.
Confirmed components of the programme include:
- Opening keynote: Definitional debates and current challenges by Prof. Ben Saul – UN Special Rapporteur on counter-terrorism and human rights;
- Pathways to extremism and terrorism;
- EU regulation of online spaces;
- Online radicalisation;
- Conflict zones or terrorism ‘hot spots’: the evolution of (violent) extremist actors and geographies;
- Study visits to Europol and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW);
- Critical discussions under the Chatham House Rule
