Seeded in 2009, founder Noor Huda Ismail recognised the need to develop effective post-detention care to deradicalise or prevent re-radicalisation of young at-risk individuals in Semarang by using alternative approaches to the Indonesian Ministry of Justice. Ismail utilises different activities including journalism, training, and civic education in the hopes of promoting critical thinking.
