The Migration Policy Group was founded in 1995 as an independent non-profit think tank, devoted toward a more durably open and inclusive European society. In advancing this goal, the MPG has done extensive research, policy assessments, network building, advocacy, and training programmes., Distinguishing the MPG from other think tanks has been its continued emphasis on innovative solutions in resolving issues like discrimination and racism. It has focused its attention in three programme areas: migration and mobility, diversity and integration, and anti-discrimination and equality. It provides training programmes and capacity building events at the national level among non-governmental and government organisations, corporate groups and trade unions.
