Founded in 2008 following a conference in Albany, New York, Project SALAM (Support and Legal Advocacy for Muslims) was initiated to investigate and challenge the pre-emptive persecution and prosecution of Muslims following the September 11th attacks. They have examined each prosecution on the basis of terrorism-related charges post-9/11 to determine whether the evidence against the defendant is substantiated, or unfairly concocted or manipulated with the intention of using innocent Muslims as scapegoats.
