The Streets Don’t Love You
Author(s):
The foundation of the Streets Don’t Love You Back project, which its founder Robert D. Boyd describes as a ‘movement’, lays in its book namesake. The movement, which began in the city of Detroit, now strives to educate youth globally about the dangers of gangs, drugs, violence and abuse and open dialogue to discuss the alternatives. Proceeds from all book sales go to the project’s two charities, the Homeless Coalition and Women helping Women shelters, that tackle the issue of homelessness., The project aims to do this through their radio shows ‘The Streets Don’t Love you Back,’ the ‘Keep it Real Show,’ and the ‘Change Reality Show’ that share true stories of youths that have successfully departed from entanglement in criminal and violent activities in a bid to encourage similar change in at-risk youths.
