Following his own experiences as a young man engaging in unlawful and anti-community behaviour, the founder of There’s a Better Way, Glen Green, a former gang member was encouraged to set-up this now basketball focused project. Launching in 2010 There’s a Better Way seeks to use the positive approach of sports in engaging and encouraging youth from under-privileged backgrounds to channel their energy into worthwhile activities such as touch rugby, basketball, dance, and music. The project also seeks to provide positive role models for young people that depart from gang members.
