The third bi-annual report on violent extremisn in Finland has been published as part of the Ministry of Interior’s National Action Plan for Preventing Extremism., This report focuses in on demonstration held on 6 December 2013, the Finnish Independence Day, providing a thematic review on the acts of violence and other offences which occurred around this event. The incident stimulated wide-ranging public discussion on the possible reasons behind the rioting and gave rise to speculations as to how such incidents reflect changes in society.
